Answer
Paul Hindemith was a German composer, violist and teacher. In 1921 he founded the Amar Quartet, a string quartet that performed his works and toured Europe and the United States. The quartet's repertoire included works by Hindemith, as well as other contemporary composers such as Schoenberg and Webern. The Amar Quartet disbanded in 1929, and Hindemith went on to compose more works for string quartet.
