Pehr Evind Svinhufvud opposed communism and the left in general. He believed that communism was a threat to Finnish democracy and that the left was trying to undermine the country's independence. Svinhufvud was a conservative and believed in strong government and traditional values. He was also a nationalist and believed that Finland should be independent from Russia.
