Philip Noel-Baker became a life peer in 1977. He was a British Labour politician, who was Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations from 1947 to 1950 and a Labour MP for Derby South from 1929 to 1977. He was also a pacifist and Nobel Peace Prize winner.
