Pembroke College is the Cambridge college most strongly associated with William Pitt the Younger, the British Prime Minister who led the country during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Pitt attended Pembroke as an undergraduate from 1773 to 1776 and was a member of the college's debating society, the Pitt Club, which was named in his honor.
