Proclus argued against which popular belief of his time?

  • Eternal Universe

  • Geocentric Universe

  • Flat Earth

  • Divine Providence

Answer

Proclus (412–485 AD) was a Neoplatonic philosopher who argued against the popular belief of his time that the universe was eternal. Proclus believed that the universe was created by God and had a finite beginning and end. He argued that the eternal universe was impossible because it would be static and unchanging, which would contradict the evidence of change and motion that we observe in the world.
