The War against the Turks was a conflict between the Russian Empire and the Ottoman Empire from 1768 to 1774. It was part of the Russo-Turkish Wars, and was fought over control of the Black Sea and the Balkans. The war ended with the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca, which gave Russia control of the Crimean Peninsula and the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus.
