Rafael Carrera y Turcios (October 24, 1814 – April 14, 1865) was a Guatemalan military leader who served as President of Guatemala from 1844 to 1851 and from 1854 to 1865. Carrera led a successful revolt against the Liberal Party in 1837, which resulted in the secession of Guatemala from the United Provinces of Central America.
