Navarre was the kingdom that Charles IV also ruled as Charles I. Charles IV, King of France, ascended to the throne of Navarre through his marriage to Jeanne II of Navarre. Upon their marriage, Charles became co-ruler of Navarre, taking the title Charles I of Navarre. He ruled alongside Jeanne until her death in 1349, after which he became the sole ruler of Navarre.
