Jules-Albert de Dion was a French industrialist who is considered to be one of the pioneers of the automobile industry. He founded the De Dion-Bouton company in 1883, which produced some of the earliest gasoline-powered cars. He also founded the first automobile club in France, the Automobile Club de France, in 1895.
