Richard M. Sherman was born on June 12, 1928. He is an American songwriter, composer, and film score composer. Sherman is best known for his work with his brother, Robert B. Sherman, on numerous Disney films, including "Mary Poppins," "The Jungle Book," and "The Aristocats." The Sherman Brothers have won two Academy Awards for Best Original Song and have been nominated for an additional eight.
