James Ewell Brown Stuart, better known as J.E.B Stuart, was born on February 6, 1833 in Patrick County, Virginia. He was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, and is best known for his cavalry raids in the Eastern Theater. Stuart was also a skilled horseman and an excellent tactician. He died of a gunshot wound in 1864 at the Battle of Yellow Tavern.
