Robert Guéï was a politician who was the President of Côte d'Ivoire from 24 December 1999 until 26 October 2000. He came to power after overthrowing Henri Konan Bédié in a coup d'état. Guéï's presidency was marked by political instability and violence, and he was eventually overthrown by Laurent Gbagbo in another coup d'état.
