Who succeeded Robert Guéï as ruler of Ivory Coast?

Laurent Gbagbo was the leader of Ivory Coast from 2000 to 2011. He was born in 1945 and was a lawyer before entering politics. He was elected president in 2000 and was re-elected in 2005. However, his second term was contested by opposition leader Alassane Ouattara. The resulting political crisis led to civil war and Gbagbo was eventually ousted from power in 2011.
