Roza Otunbayeva is a Kyrgyz politician. She was the first woman to be president of Kyrgyzstan, serving in that office from 2010 to 2011. Otunbayeva was born in 1950 in Osh, Kyrgyzstan. She studied law at the Moscow State University and then worked as a lawyer in Kyrgyzstan. In 1991, she became the first female minister of foreign affairs in Kyrgyzstan.
