Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas was a companion of Muhammad and a general in the Rashidun Caliphate. He is most notable for his military conquests, particularly the Battle of Qadisiyyah, in which the Muslim army defeated the Sassanid Empire, and the Battle of Yarmouk, in which the Muslims defeated the Byzantine Empire.
