Samuel Goldfish was born on August 27, 1882 in Warsaw, Congress Poland, Russian Empire. He was an American film producer who founded Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) with Marcus Loew and Louis B. Mayer. Goldfish changed his name to Goldwyn in 1916, when he was a film distributor. He was one of the most successful producers in Hollywood during the Golden Age of Hollywood.
