Jarnail Singh Brar (1947–1984) was a Sikh religious leader and politician from Punjab, India. He was the leader of the Damdami Taksal religious seminary in Amritsar and the founder of the Khalistan movement, which advocated the establishment of an independent Sikh state in the Punjab region. Bhindranwale was killed by Indian security forces in the Operation Blue Star raid on the Golden Temple complex in Amritsar in 1984.
