The answer is no. Due to family financial constraints, Simon Newcomb did not complete high school. Instead, he received his education from his father, who taught him basic arithmetic and geography, and at a local lyceum. At age 16, he began work as an apprentice printer, and at 18 he enrolled in the Lawrence Scientific School at Harvard University.
