Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden was born in 1778, the son of King Gustav III and his wife Sophia Magdalena. He ascended to the throne in 1792, following the assassination of his father. However, his reign was short-lived, and he was deposed in 1809 in favor of his uncle, Charles XIII. Gustav IV Adolf died in exile in 1837.
