Ingrida Šimonytė became Prime Minister of Lithuania on December 11, 2020. She was elected by the Seimas, Lithuania's parliament, after her party, the Homeland Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats, won the 2020 parliamentary election. Šimonytė is the first woman to hold the position of Prime Minister in Lithuania.
