Sebastian Prödl started his professional football career at Austrian Bundesliga club Sturm Graz in 2002, at the age of 17. He made his professional debut for the club on 27 August 2002, in a 1–0 win over Austria Wien. Prödl went on to make 140 appearances for Sturm Graz, scoring 11 goals. He helped the club win the Austrian Bundesliga in 2008 and 2009, and the Austrian Cup in 2004.
