Talaat Pasha, the Ottoman Minister of the Interior during World War I and a key figure in the Armenian genocide, was assassinated on 15 March 1921 in Berlin, Germany. His assassination was carried out by Soghomon Tehlirian, a member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation, as revenge for the Armenian Genocide. Tehlirian was subsequently tried and acquitted in a German court.
