Khosrow I, also known as Khosrow Anushirvan, was the son of Kavad I, who served as the Sasanian King of Kings. Kavad I ruled the Sasanian Empire from 488 to 496 and then again from 501 until his death in 531. During his second reign, Kavad implemented several important reforms and promoted Zoroastrianism as the official religion of the empire.
