Charlotte Christine of Brunswick-Lüneburg was the mother of Peter II. She was born in 1694 to Louis Rudolph, Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg, and Christine Louise of Oettingen-Oettingen. In 1715, she married Alexei Petrovich, the son of Peter the Great. Peter II was born in 1715, and became Tsar of Russia in 1727. He died in 1730, and was succeeded by his aunt, Anna Ivanovna.
