The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is the major political party in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is the state affiliate of the national Democratic Party, but maintains a separate organization and structure. The DFL was founded in 1944 as a merger of the Democratic Party and the Farmer–Labor Party, and has been the dominant party in Minnesota state politics ever since.
