British Army Officer Robert Baden-Powell, 1st Baron Baden-Powell (1857-1941) is best known for being the founder of the Scouting movement. He was born in London, England, and was the son of a British Army officer. Baden-Powell joined the army himself at the age of 16, and served for 34 years. He saw action in several conflicts, including the Second Boer War (1899-1902).
