Edith, later known as Matilda of Scotland, was the daughter of Malcolm III, King of Scotland, and Margaret of Wessex. She was born in Dunfermline, Scotland, in 1080. In 1100, she married Henry I of England, becoming Queen of England. She was a devout Christian and a patron of the arts. She died in Westminster Abbey in 1118 and was buried there.
