Thích Nhất Hạnh was a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, Zen master, poet, peace activist, and author who lived most of his life in exile in France. He was a key figure in the Vietnamese Buddhist peace movement, and he helped to establish the School of Youth for Social Services in South Vietnam in 1956.
