Tigran Sargsyan served as Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia from 1998 to 2008. He was appointed to the position by then-President Robert Kocharyan and was reappointed by President Serzh Sargsyan in 2003. During his tenure, the Central Bank of Armenia oversaw the country's transition from a planned to a market economy and played a key role in stabilizing the Armenian economy.
