Lasorda began his coaching career with the Dodgers in 1973. He had previously managed the team's Triple-A affiliate, the Albuquerque Dukes, for three seasons. Lasorda led the Dodgers to two World Series championships, in 1981 and 1988, and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1996. He is widely considered one of the greatest managers in baseball history.
