Tecatito began his professional career with Monterrey, a Mexican football club based in Monterrey, Nuevo León. He made his debut for the club in 2010 at the age of 18 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the team, scoring 24 goals. During his time with Monterrey, Tecatito helped the club win the CONCACAF Champions League in 2011-12 and the Mexican Apertura championship in 2010.
