The Japan national football team is the national football team of Japan and is controlled by the Japan Football Association. It has participated in all of the FIFA World Cups since the 1998 edition, reaching the knockout stage in all but one. It has also won the Asian Cup four times, in 1992, 2000, 2004 and 2011. The team is currently led by Wataru Endo, who took over in 2019.
