Andrew Scheer was elected as the Member of Parliament for Regina—Qu’Appelle in the 2004 federal election. He was first elected as a member of the Conservative Party of Canada and has held the seat since then. Scheer served as the Speaker of the House of Commons from 2011 to 2015 and as Leader of the Official Opposition from 2017 to 2020.
