Ahmed Zewail was a professor at California Institute of Technology. He was an Egyptian American physicist who was awarded the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work in femtochemistry, the study of chemical reactions on the femtosecond timescale. He was the first Egyptian to win a Nobel Prize.
