Sharon Cuneta's first recording contract was with Vicor Records. Her first major break came when she was asked to record Theme song of the 1977 film, "Bituing Walang Ningning". This song was a huge success and led to her becoming one of the most popular singers in the Philippines. Cuneta's subsequent albums were also very successful and she became known for her pop and love songs.
