Derek Walcott won the OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature in 1992 for his poetry collection, Omeros. The prize is awarded annually to a Caribbean writer who has made an outstanding contribution to Caribbean literature. Walcott is one of the most celebrated poets of the Caribbean, and his work has been translated into more than 20 languages.
