Answer
Frederick VI became King of Denmark on March 13, 1808, after the death of his father, Christian VII. He was only 16 years old at the time, and his reign was marked by a number of political and economic challenges. The Napoleonic Wars were raging in Europe, and Denmark was caught in the middle. In 1814, Frederick VI was forced to cede Norway to Sweden.
