Alexandria was the site of Nizar's revolt. Nizar, the Fatimid caliph, led an uprising against his brother, al-Mustansir, in an attempt to seize control of the Fatimid Empire. The revolt began in 1062 and lasted for several years, but Nizar was ultimately defeated and killed in 1074.
