John Tyndall was born on August 2nd, 1820. He was an Irish physicist and meteorologist who is best known for his work on the absorption of light by gases and his studies of glaciers. Tyndall was also a pioneer in the field of spectroscopy, and he helped to establish the science of meteorology.
