Born in 1954, Rafael Orozco Maestre was a renowned Colombian singer and composer, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the vallenato genre. Hailing from the town of Becerril in Cesar, Colombia, he rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the popular vallenato group, Binomio de Oro, which he co-founded in 1976 alongside accordionist Israel Romero.
