Vyacheslav Molotov served as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union twice, from 1939 to 1949 and from 1953 to 1956. During his first term, he was a key player in the Soviet Union's foreign policy, negotiating the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact with Nazi Germany and the Soviet invasion of Poland. He also played a major role in the establishment of the United Nations.
