Walter Mondale was born on January 5, 1928 in Ceylon, Minnesota. He was a politician and served as the 42nd Vice President of the United States from 1977 to 1981 under President Jimmy Carter. He was also the Democratic Party's nominee for President in the 1984 election, but lost to Ronald Reagan.
