G. W. F. Hegel's chair refers to the professorship of philosophy at the University of Berlin, a prestigious position that Hegel held from 1818 until his death in 1831. After Hegel's passing, Wilhelm Dilthey, a prominent German philosopher and historian, was appointed to this chair in 1866.
