At the age of 20, Xuanzang was ordained as a full monk. He left his hometown to travel and study Buddhism. After many years of traveling, he finally reached India. He spent several years there studying under different teachers. He also visited many famous Buddhist temples and monasteries. After his studies in India were completed, Xuanzang returned to China. He brought with him many Buddhist scriptures and texts.
