Yahya Khan was a Pakistani military general who served as the third president of Pakistan from 1969 to 1971. He was the commander-in-chief of the Pakistan Army from 1966 to 1969 and led the country during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, which resulted in the loss of East Pakistan. He was overthrown in a military coup by General Zia-ul-Haq in 1977.
