The Palmaẖ (or Palmach) was a Jewish underground commando force that operated in Mandatory Palestine during the 1940s. It was founded in 1941 by the Haganah, the Jewish paramilitary organization that later became the Israel Defense Forces. The Palmaẖ was responsible for a number of raids and operations against British forces, as well as against Arab militias and Palestinian villages.
