Who did Amber Rudd succeed as Work and Pensions Secretary in November 2018?

  • David Gauke

  • Boris Johnson

  • Rishi Sunak

  • Esther McVey

Answer

Esther McVey succeeded Amber Rudd as Work and Pensions Secretary in November 2018. Rudd had resigned from the role after she admitted to making inaccurate statements to the House of Commons about the Windrush scandal. McVey had previously served as Secretary of State for Transport, but was sacked from that role in July 2018 after she clashed with Prime Minister Theresa May over Brexit.
