What was unique about Magnus's death among Norwegian kings?

  • Died in Norway

  • Died of old age

  • Last to fall in battle abroad

  • Assassinated

Answer

Magnus's death was unique among Norwegian kings because he was the last to fall in battle abroad. This occurred during the Battle of Clontarf in Ireland in 1014. Magnus had been invited to Ireland by the Irish king Brian Boru to help him fight against the Vikings. Magnus and his men fought bravely, but they were ultimately defeated. Magnus was killed in the battle, along with many of his men.
