Constance Markievicz, an Irish revolutionary, politician and feminist, died on 15 July 1927 in Dublin, Ireland. She was 59 years old. She was a member of the Irish Republican Army and was a signatory of the 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic. She was also the first woman elected to the Irish Parliament, and the first woman to serve as a cabinet minister in an Irish government.
