Edgar Douglas Adrian was an electrophysiologist who made significant contributions to the study of the brain. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1932 for his work on the function of neurons. Adrian was born in London, England, in 1889. He studied medicine at University College London and then went on to work at the University of Cambridge.
